Me standing with Usagi Yojimbo creator Stan Sakai

Comics have always been a passion of mine, starting at a young age reading my dad’s old comics from the 60’s, buying them at a local drug store, and being taken to a comic book shop for being a good kid, comics have always been there from the beginning.

I had always aspired to be somehow involved in the world of comics starting out wanting to be an artist, drawing all my own original comics in the fourth grade and then later in life realizing I wasn’t too talented a drawer. Then I turned my attention to writing and hope to one day write my own stuff but first I need to meet a couple of artists willing to work with me on some stuff.

I guess this blog is really just me settling on me being a commentator and critic until I can find a foot in the door doing it somewhere else.

Although I love comics I can’t say I read everything and rarely will you find me in a comic shop on Wednesday, gasp, I know this is unheard for a comics fan but for me my budget doesn’t quite allow for this. I do however, consume graphic novels whenever I get the chance, read up on the latest industry buzz and if need be have been known to torrent some harder to find stuff, but don’t shoot me for that because if the stuff is interesting and available in print I will probably end up buying it eventually.

So basically this is my blog attempting to comment on what I have been reading, my thoughts on things and whatever else comes to mind. This won’t be a blog where I talk all about the latest Blackest Night and Siege story arcs, sorry, I haven’t gotten around to these and don’t plan on it until they are all collected. Hell I am really behind I still haven’t gotten around to reading Dark Reign yet that is if you actually read the whole thing.

  1. Jared,

Found you through the WSL blog. I’m not in the comics industry and you didn’t ask for advice, but reading your bio reminded me of a good link I came across about breaking into the comic writers field: http://bit.ly/dA0z8I.

    Best of luck to you!

    • thanks for the cool link Jason and feel free to let me know what you think about the rest of the site.
